Pokemon Go Book Tag

Pokemon Go Book Tag was created by the wonderful Aentee over at Read at Midnight.  Go check out her blog!

While I wasn't a huge fan of Pokemon as a child, I really enjoyed collecting the cards and watching the movies.  I'm just in love with Pokemon Go, though.  Not only because of the content of the game, but because of how many awesome people I've met because of it and all the good times I've spent with friends and family walking around looking for new pokemon!  So, without further ado, here's my Pokemon Go Book Tag!
I have three different books that really defined the start of my love of reading (just like there's three starting pokemon - ha!).  The book that initially got me reading was none other than Twilight.  It sparked my love of reading and showed me that books can be used for entertainment just as much learning!

City of Bones was the book that showed me Twilight wasn't the only book like this!  It forged my love of YA and actually inspired me to start writing my own novels.

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins is the book that inspired me to start this blog!  When I finished reading it, I was desperate to find other people to talk about it with and this was the perfect place to find that.
Like I'm sure will be many other people's answers, I couldn't not pick the Harry Potter series for this category.  Harry Potter is a consistent favorite of mine and it's a new experience every time I read it (which is normally at least once a year).
For me, this is without a doubt Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarry Fisher.  I was really excited about this one when I first heard about but it just blew up to the point where I over hyped it and I don't think it will be able to really live up to my expectations.
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout is that book for me.  There's so many things about this book that I see everywhere in the YA genre as a whole but I just can't stop loving it!

Oh my gosh, I've been wanting to read the Game of Thrones for the longest time but just . . . those books are so long.  And dense.  And there's so many different character POVs and story lines to follow and that's a lot.
This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel was a pretty chilling book.  I read is a few years ago and there were some straight up scary sections in it.
Feysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses.  Holy wow, this book . . . these characters . . . everything, I loved.  They are amazing and deserve happiness!
For me, this book is Poison Princess by Kresley Cole.  Not only is it incredibly interesting and fast-paced, it also has a scorching hot romance!
The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas.  While I haven't read all the novella for this series yet, I'm so excited to.  Really, anything she writes I'll happily pick up.
When I started reading the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did.  But when I really dove into the series, especially after reading the second book in the series, I just fell in love!
I've been staying away from reading The Raven Boys but after hearing all the hype and excitement over these books, I finally caved.  I got the book and I'm excited to start and see what all the fuss is about!
I don't have a specific idea of a collector's edition I wish I owned but I wouldn't mind getting a rare edition of the Harry Potter series!
Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones sounds so amazing!  Plus, I have a thing for books about Goblins and Faeries and it's about Goblins.  February 7, 2017 just cannot come quickly enough
Sarah J. Maas, without a doubt.  Especially right now when I'm just coming from reading A Court of Mist and Fury, which actually may have killed me (jk but it was really good and you all should go read it).
Stefanie Meyer has promised many books but here I am, bookless.  I'd love a Midnight Sun release.  Or the release of the next two books in The Host series.  But, alas, I fear it will never happen.

I tag everyone who wants to do this!  It's a fun tag and brings together so many awesome, nerdy things :)

Harry Potter Book Tag!

Oh my goodness, a Harry Potter book tag?  You know I can't resist this.  I found this wonderful tag over at Writing On A Vintage Typewriter, Áine's lovely blog!  She tagged all Harry Potter lovers and, as a self titled Potterhead, I had to do this!  So, enjoy :)

Favorite book in the series?

It has to be the third book in the series, The Prisoner of Azkaban.  I felt like this was really the book that took HP, both as a character an as a series, down a more mature path and I loved that.  Also, Sirius.

Favorite movie?
Order of the Phoenix, definitely!  It is just such a great story, both on the page and as a film and really sets of the last few books.

Least favorite book?

Looking back, I have no idea why I disliked this book so much.  I feel like it just dragged a bit in between the tournament events.  Even still, this is one of my all time favorite books, just my least favorite of the series.

Scenes that made you cry? *spoilers*

Dobby.  Fred.  Remus.  Also Dumbledore drinking from that bowl in that cave.  You know what I'm talking about.

Favorite character?

Fred and George always make me smile.

What would your Patronus be?
I took a quiz once that said mine would be a stag but I don't quite see that.  I'd probably be a cat or something similar.

If you could chose to have the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, or the Invisibility Cloak, which would you choose?

I've read the books, I know what the smart choice would be.  Also, the cloak would be so handy when you want to avoid something.  I can get into so many fun adventures with it, too.  Like searching for Christmas presents without anyone realizing it.

What house would you be sorted into?

According to Pottermore, I'm a Gryffindor!  Which is seriously awesome because I love Gryffindors. But I can see myself also being sorted into Ravenclaw.

If you could meet one member of the cast, who would it be?

Rupert Grint, definitely.  While it'd be awesome to meet Emma Watson, I just love how down to earth and funny Rupert always seems.

If you played Quidditch, what position would you play?

I'd probably honestly be a beater.  I played softball for years and am pretty handy with a bat.  Also, I like being able to help other people succeed and support them so I feel like I'd be happy with this position.

Were you happy with the ending?

Yes yes yes yes yes.  I loved it.  I was so happy with how everything wrapped up.  Of course, I'd always be happy to have more but if nothing else is coming, I'm completely satisfied with the way this series came to a close.

What does this series mean to you?

This series has turned into a living thing for me.  It was there to comfort me when I was sad or lonely.  It made my childhood magical and filled me with creativity and hope.  It made my interest in reading (which Twilight initially sparked) blow up and immersed me in a world of wonderful fictional worlds.  I think so fondly about this series.  I have no doubt that I'll be passing it down and reading it with my own kids.

If you're a Harry Potter lover, I tag you to do this!  I'd love to read your answers so please, leave your links in the comments below so we can all reminisce about this legendary series.

Reader Problems Tag

Photo found here

I recently saw a really terrific tag on Jazmen's blog, This Girl Reads A Lot, and I knew I needed to do it!  So, here is my Reader Problems tag!

1.  You have 20,000 books on your TBR list.  How do you decide what to read next?

It depends, honestly.  Most of the time, I'll pick whatever my mood tells me to pick.  Last time I picked a book from my TBR, I chose it because it was the biggest and I didn't want to have to take it back with me to school!

2.  You're halfway through a book and you're just not feeling it.  Do you quit or are you committed?

I quit.  I spent too much time trying to get through books I didn't like when I first started blogging and it made it feel like a chore.  Now, if I'm really not digging a book, I'll stop reading it and move onto something better.

3.  The end of the year is coming and you're behind on your Goodreads reading challenge.  Do you try to catch up and how?

I try to catch up but I don't stress over it.  I think in 2014 I was only like, 6 or so books behind when the year ended.  I'm okay with it.  Life gets in the way, no biggie.  I did set the bar a little lower for this year though :)

4.  The covers of a series don't match.  How do you cope?

Complain about it to friends, maybe make a post about it on here, and keep them on the bottom shelf of my bookshelf.

5.  Everyone and their mother really loves a book your don't like.  Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Usually I'll be able to find one other person who doesn't like it.  If not, I might complain about it to a friend who has yet to read it.

6.  You're reading a book and about to cry in public.  How do you deal?

I'm generally pretty good holding in tears when I need to but if I really can't, I'll probably take a break from the book before getting back to it.

7.  A sequel of a book you really love has just come out but you don't remember a lot from the prior novel.  What do you do?

If it's a book I really love, I'll generally try to reread the prior book or at least read the last chapter.  Otherwise, I'll just jump into the new book and hope for the best.

8.  You don't want anyone borrowing your books.  How do you politely tell them no?

9.  Reading ADD: you've picked up and put down 5 books this month.  How do you get over your reading slump?

Usually I'll just muscle my way through the books and then, once I'm done, reread a book I know I love or pick up a book I've been looking forward to for a long time.

10.  There are so many books coming out that you're dying to read!  How many do you actually buy?

All of them even though my wallet is crying.

There you have it!  I tag anyone who wants to do this and join in the fun!

Book Gif Tag - Tagged by @ThisGirlReadsALot

A gif book tag?  Is there any tag better than this one?  Seriously, I'm so excited to do this.  Finally, the perfect tag for me.  Thank you so much Jazmen from This Girl Reads A Lot for tagging me!

Fair warning: expect Supernatural gifs.

The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

I started this book about 8 months ago and have yet to finish it.  I know, it's terrible  But I'll get back to it eventually.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

A book that totally tricked me and had a huge twist at the end.  I did not at all expect that ending.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

So awesome.  So.  Awesome.

Stay With Me by J. Lynn

How I feel when I sit on her website looking for excerpts and updates for this book.  I need it now.

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

This book is full of playlists and songs that just make me want to rock out!

Uninvited by Sophie Jordan

A book that just sort of bored me.  I was very meh about this one.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson

This book ripped my heart out and danced all over it.  While laughing.

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Still can't believe this series is over.  I miss it so much.

Illusion by Sherrilyn Kenyon

This book was so confusing and so unnecessary.  I was so disappointed since this is one of my favorite series.

Second Star by Alyssa B. Sheinmel

The characters in this book just drove me crazy.  The choices they made were so stupid.

I'm tagging every who would like to do this!  It really is a blast, guys!  Try it out and leave your links int he comments below!
