It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

What I've Just Finished Reading
It's been a while since I've picked up a Colleen Hoover book so when I heard about her novel, Too Late, I needed to read it.  I bought it yesterday and I've just finished it.  Holy cow, what a crazy ride!  I've rated it four stars on Goodreads but I'm still trying to figure out whether I liked it or not.  A review for it should be out early next week!

What I'm Currently Reading
I'm currently still reading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo.  It's so good so far, I just haven't had the time to sit down and fully concentrate on it.  I've been in need of some contemporary and this book is definitely not a contemporary.  I'm hoping I'll be able to finish it this week!

What I'm Reading Next
I've gotten a load of books recently so it was kinda hard to choose what I wanted to read but I'm pretty interested in the book Vendetta by Catherine Doyle!  I was really interested in reading it when it first came out but never got around to picking it up until now!  I'm hoping it'll meet my expectations!

What are you reading this Monday?  Have you read Crooked Kingdom?  I feel like every I know has and I'm honestly shocked I haven't been spoiled yet!  I'm so excited about all the reading I'll be doing over Winter break.  What next up on your list?  Let me know in the comments below!

Find Empire of Storms online

Why I'm waiting on Empire of Storms this Wednesday:  I've only recently dove back into these series.  When I read the first book, I thought it was good but not great.  It wasn't until after reading A Court of Mist and Fury, the second book in Sarah J Maas's other series, that I picked up this one again.  I just needed more of her writing!  And I'm so glad I gave it another chance.  So, now I'm completely in love with both of Sarah's series and I really can't wait for this one to release!

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?  Are you just in love with the Throne of Glass series as I am?  I swear, Sarah could write a grocery list on a napkin and I'd jump at the chance to read it.  Which is your favorite book in this series?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

What I Finished Reading
I've actually been in the process of rereading the Harry Potter series from the fourth book on.  It's been so long since I was able to pick them up!  Finally being able to dive into the world was really interesting.  Surprisingly, I found a lot of my opinions on these books have changed.  I plan on writing a post about that soon, so look out for it!

What I'm Currently Reading
I'm actually switching between three different books right now, which I try normally not to do.  But I'm trying to catch up on books to review, since I took some time off for rereading Harry Potter.  So, right now I'm working on The Anatomical Shape of the Heart, Nora & Kettle, and Firstlife.  I'm feeling a little iffy about TASotH and Firstlife, but so far I'm really enjoying Nora & Kettle!

What I Plan on Reading Next
I want to read Stars Above by Marissa Meyer so badly guys, you have no idea.  I need this book in my hands right now.  But I also have to be responsible and finish reading the books I'm working on right now.  I don't think my brain could handle four different books right now.  But believe me, the second I get the chance, I'm jumping on Stars Above!

I'm really excited about posting my Harry Potter discussion and being able to pick up Stars Above.  Have you read Stars Above yet?  Was it so amazing?!?!  I need to know, guys!  What are you reading this Monday?

Waiting on Wednesday #78

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.

Title:  Wink Poppy Midnight
Series:  N/A
Genre:  Young Adult, Mystery
Publisher:  Dial Books
Publication Date:  March 22, 2016

The intrigue of The Virgin Suicides and the "supernatural or not" question of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer coalesce in this young adult mystery, where nothing is quite as it seems, no one is quite who you think, and everything can change on a dime.
Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.
Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Two girls. One boy. Three voices that burst onto the page in short, sharp, bewitching chapters, and spiral swiftly and inexorably toward something terrible or tricky or tremendous.
What really happened?
Someone knows.
Someone is lying.

Find Wink Poppy Midnight online

Why I'm waiting on Wink Poppy Midnight this Wednesday:  I was a huge fan of April Genevieve Tucholke's first book, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (find my review here) but I never read the second book in that series.  Still, she's an enormously talented author and I'm very intrigued by the sound of this book (though also a bit confused).  Hopefully it's a good one!

In the Everlife, two realms are in power: Troika and Myriad, longtime enemies and deadly rivals. Both will do anything to recruit Ten, including sending their top Laborers to lure her to their side. It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

What I Finished Reading
I have been so busy lately with midterms in my classes that I haven't had much time to sit down with a good book just for fun but I have been reading tons for my english class!  We just finished reading Geek Love by Katherine Dunn which is way out of the usual for me.  It was unlike anything I'd ever read before.  Very dark and twisted but interesting.

What I'm Currently Reading
Getting with the season, I began reading Frankenstein on Halloween!  I've never read it before but it's interesting so far.  Nothing at all how I always assumed it would be, though.

What I'm Reading Next
I actually have no idea what I plan on reading next!  I've tried planning that out and I always find the moment I assign myself reading, I lose interest in that book.  So once I finish Frankenstein, I'm just going to pick up whichever book sounds interesting to me!

What are you reading this Monday?  Have you read Frankenstein before?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

What I Finished Reading
I've just finished reading a book I've been waiting years to get the chance to read: Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins.  This series was the one that initially pushed me to start this blog and having the chance to read it through the perspective of Kaidan Rowe...it was so awesome!

What I'm Currently Reading
My friend Tyler has been pushing me to read The Martian by Andy Weir because the movie is coming out really soon and we absolutely have to see it.  And, of course, I can't watch the movie before I read the book!  I'm about four chapters in and really loving it.  The writing style is so deadpan and hilarious!

What I'm Going to Read Next
I started but didn't continue reading An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir a couple weeks ago.  It wasn't because I didn't like it, it was just because I became really busy with moving and getting ready for school.  Now that I'm more settled in, I'm excited to pick it up again!

What are you reading this Monday?  Are you excited to see The Martian?  Have you read it?  Let me know in the comments below!

What I Finished Reading
I actually just finished reading Fall With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout!  She's one of my absolute favorite authors and I really enjoy her New Adult books.  FWM was exactly the sort of book I've been craving lately.  For some reason I've been on a serious contemporary kick these past couple weeks and this one fit in perfectly!  It left me all heart-eyed and swoony.

What I'm Currently Reading
Right now I'm actually involved in a read-along with some bookish friends over on Instagram!  We're reading the first book in the Game of Thrones series and it is awe-some so far!  I'm really enjoying it and I can't wait to jump into the rest of the series (especially since I like the show so much)

I'm also reading Peter Pan right now!  This one was a little out of left field for me but I felt it was necessary because I'm working on drafting a Peter Pan retelling right now and I am seriously in love with.  For real.  I can't wait to share more with your guys once I have it a little more fleshed out.

What I Will Be Reading
My friend Brandi Hi Brandi!  *waves vigorously* recently for me Scarlet by Marissa Meyer for my birthday and I can't wait to jump into it!  I loved the first book and I've heard the series just gets better and better.

What are you guys currently reading?
