Feature & Follow #41

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Physical copy or Nook/Kindle?  Which is your favorite?

This really depends on the situation.  Most of the time, I prefer a physical copy over an ebook - I just find I have a better time reading it!  But if I'm traveling, I'd rather have my Nook with me because then I don't have to have a separate piece of luggage just for carrying books!

Which do you prefer: physical copy or ebook?  Leave your links in the comments below and I'll be sure to check out your posts!

Feature & Follow #40

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  Do you post your reviews anywhere besides you blog?  Where else do you post them?

I try to post all the reviews I do on here to Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.  But I'll admit, I get behind on that very easily.  I normally will dedicate a day to just transferring all of the reviews to those sites every couple weeks/months.

Where else do you post your reviews?  Leave a comment below and I'll be sure to check out your blog!

This week's question is...

Q:  Do you have any fun collections (other than books)?

Yes, actually!  I collect movie tickets.  It actually happened by accident.  My friends and I got into the habit of seeing movies every weekend or so and I start accumulating ticket stubs in my purse (because I never clean that thing out).  Finally, I did clean it out and found all the tickets.  I loved the memories behind them so I decided to start intentionally collecting them!

Feature & Follow # 38

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q: Blogger pet peeves? -Take Me Away

So, I'm taking this as bloggers, not the actual program which I have too many problems with to list.  The thing that bothers me the most is when bloggers make backhanded comments about other bloggers or authors.  It really bothers me when people try to tear down other people and their success just because they think it will make them more popular or successful in the blogging world.  Bullying in general just really bothers me.

What are some of your blogging pet peeves?  Leave links in the comments below and I'll be sure to check out your blogs!

This week's question is...

Q:  Before you started blogging, how did you find out about new books?

Before blogging, I basically just went to Barnes and Noble and stared at the YA shelves until something caught my eye.  Or, I looked at the websites of authors I'd previously read to see what their next books would be coming out.

It was a simpler time....

This week's question is...

Q:  Are you also a writer and, if so, what genre?  If not, have you ever considered writing?

Yes, this is such a fun question!  I am a writer, though I have yet to finish a project.  I always get ideas and then about halfway through I'm stuck with another idea and run off with that project.  However, I'm currently working on a mature YA urban fantasy.  It's an idea that has been playing around in my head for a while.  If involves faeries and cute boys.

I'm rather excited about it :)

Feature & Follow #35

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  Tell us about a character you'd like to switch places with - via Escaping Within Pages.

This is SUCH A HARD QUESTION.  There are a million and one characters I'd love to trade places with and most of them are dating cute boys.  So now, I have to figure out which boy is the cutest AND what world I wouldn't be killed in within the first 5 seconds.  A couple characters that pop into mind automatically are Avery from Wait For You, Anna from Sweet Evil, Evie from Poison Princess, and Mara from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.  All are dating super cute boys and all (excluding Avery) have kick ass powers.

However, if I looked past all the possible cute-boy interactions, I realized there was no character I'd rather switch places with than Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.  Just the chance to experience that world and fight along side Harry and Ron is priceless.  Yes, please.  Lets do this.

Feature & Follow #34

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  What book/series do you think would make a better TV show than movie?

The Arcana Chronicles is one of my favorite series and I would absolutely love to see it play out in front of my eyes.  However, it would do much better as a TV show.  There's a lot that goes on and different aspects and parts within this series.  Because of that, I feel like it would do better as a TV show so the the writers and directors can take their time and be sure to add everything.

What book/series do you think would make a good TV show?

This week's question is...

Q: Suggest a question for next week!

Kiss, marry, kill.  Which fictional boys (or girls) would you either kiss, marry, or kill.  I think it's a pretty fun question and I always have fun with my friends talking about it, especially when the three characters are assigned to you and you don't get to pick.

Feature & Follow #32

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  What is one TV series on Netflix that you can watch over and over again?

This may or may not be totally obvious since I use Supernatural gifs all the time but Supernatural would definitely be the show for me.  I'm completely addicted to it.  I have posters, bumper stickers, t-shirts, jewelry, and even a decal for my laptop all for this show.  Dean and Sam stole my heart the first episode and 9 seasons (10 starting October 7th at 9 p.m.) later, I'm still in love with them and the show.  It's a perfect blend of action, horror, hilarity, and cute boys.  I mean, come on, do you see these faces?

Who can resist that?  I certainly can't.

Feature & Follow #30

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q: Armchair Travel! Tell us about your favorite book in a setting you’d like to visit (a real place for this question).

I would love to be able to go to Victorian London, which is where The Infernal Devices trilogy takes place.  It sounds so amazing and I'm a history nerd so I would totally love the chance to experience everything firsthand.  If it has to be somewhere in this time...

then I would pick Paris, France!  While I have already been here before, I would love the opportunity to go again (without my school) and be able to wander and enjoy the place like Anna and St. Clair did.  Gosh, just thinking about this book make me want to pick it and reread it!

If you could travel to a setting in a book you've read (that's a real place), where would you choose?

Feature & Follow #29

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q.  How have your reading habits changed in the past few years?  Did you get interested in a new genre?  Do you read more?  Less?  Why do you think your habits changed, if they did?

For me, the most noticeable change in my reading habits is the variety of novels I pick up.  Before, I was really picky about what I picked up at the store and decided to read.  Now, I'm more willing to branch out and look for the not-so-popular books and give them a shot.  I also have read some New Adult books which I have liked quite a bit.  Besides that, I've noticed that I spend less time reading but read more than before.  And what I mean by that is that I can pick up a three hundred page novel and finish it in one sitting, when before, the same book would take me a day or two to complete.  So I've gotten a lot faster, too!

Have your reading habits changed over the years?  How?

Feature & Follow #28

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  Recommend some of your favorite back-list books - books that are 5-10 years old.

Tyger Tyger by Kersten Hamilton.

I enjoyed this book immensely and have reread it quite a few times and I picked it for today even though it's only about 4 years old.  The familial bonds, the mythology, and the magic quality all make this book worth reading.  I haven't talked to many other people who have read it but I think this is definitely a book worth reading.

What is your favorite back-list book?  Leave your links in the comments below and I'll be sure to check out your blog!

Feature & Follow #27

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted over at Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question is...

Q:  What was the last book that made you cry?

Would the amount of water pouring from my eyes when I read this even be considered crying?  I'm pretty sure I leveled up to sobbing or I'm-Drowning-In-My-Own-Tears or Someone-Help-I-Can't-Handle-This.

What was the last book you read that made you cry?  Share your links in the comments below and I'll be sure to check out your post!
