Top Ten Books I Read in School!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish in which we share out top ten lists relating to the bookish topic assigned that week.

This week's topic is...

Books I Read in School!

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
Challenger Deep by Neal Schusterman
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia
Pictures of Hollis Woods by Patricia Reilly Giff
Sold by Patricia McCormick
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

So, to be fair, most of these were college reads from Young Adult and Children's lit classes I took.  Those classes were amazing and the reading lists included books I would have wanted to read anyways!  All of these books were so amazing and left such an impact on me.  What books did you like reading in school?

  1. Oh wow. You read much more recent books than I did! Most of the books we had to read in AP Lit and AP Lang were British lit, like Chaucer and Shakespeare and such. Crime and Punishment, War and Peace, etc. Night by Elie Wiesel was good though (I feel like I butchered his name, ahhh). My favorite from school besides some Shakespeare plays was A Room With a View!

Great post, Ashtyn! Have a fantastic day. =)

    1. I read a lot of the older ones as well but since starting college, I've been able to read newer novels in my lit classes which had been really nice!

      Thanks for stopping by, Alyssa!

  2. Oh I remember reading Sold like...years ago. It really impact me too. So brutal and eye-opening and I'll never forget it. 😭😭
