In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series THE DARK ELEMENTS, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons.Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining balance between good and evil. He was her everything...right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally. My Review: Anytime I hear about Jennifer L. Armentrout releasing a new book, I immediately go slightly insane. I obsess over it just a
And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again...
Luckily, I am never disappointed by Jennifer's books and Bitter Sweet Love was no exception. I began reading this at midnight on the day it released and I did not stop until three that morning (much to my parents disappointment). I just couldn't put it down. I loved getting this first little sneak peek at the world that this newest series is set it. Even though Dez and Jas aren't the stars of this series, the sure were the stars of this book. The chemistry in their relationship was sizzling and the tension between them was tangible. In other words, I loved it. Their relationship together was so amazing and, even though we were only with them for a short time, I fell absolutely in love with them both. They were a funny and strong couple. I adored the banter that went on between them along with all the sweet, heart melting moments!
The plot was feel-good and exciting. It was less of a serious book and more fun. It was concentrated on Dez winning back Jas's affections by taking her to do all the things shes always wanted to do. It was so adorable seeing them do these things together. I just wanted to hug them both.
Though the concentration was definitely on Jas and Dez, we were able to take our first peek at the main characters from the first book in this series, White Hot Kiss, which releases in February 2014. We meet Layla, who is the star of White Hot Kiss, as well as Zane and Roth the two love interests. I'm sorry to all you Zayne lovers out there but I'm already rooting for Roth. I fell in love with him the second we met him in Bitter Sweet Love. I cannot wait to see more of him and the others in the first book in this series.
This novella was amazing. It did a wonderful job of introducing us to this new world and series while still giving the characters in it the main stage. After reading Bitter Sweet Love, I am even more anxious than ever to read White Hot Kiss. Can I have it now, please?
