Review: Opal

Title:  Opal
Series:  Lux # 3
Author:  Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher:  Entangled Teen
Pages:  382
Format:  eBook

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.
My Review:  Do I even need to write reviews for these books anymore?  They're always amazing and wonderful and addicting.  This book was just as heart racing and enthralling as the others!

It's the characters that really draw me into books.  These particular characters are so realistic and relatable, it amazes me.  Every single one of them have wiggled their way into my heart - even the minor ones.  Each one of these characters holds there own against each other and others in the genre.  None of them ever slip to the side lines or are overshadowed in the story.  And, of course, there's Daemon - My (and apparently everyone else's) book boyfriend!  This guy . . . I swear, I thought he couldn't get any better after the first and second books but wow, he was just a little sweet heart in this one!  And I adored the fact that he could be all romantic and loving while still retaining his sarcasm.  Katy is one of my absolute favorite female characters in all the books I've ever read.  I love her wit and strength and the fact that she's a book blogger, too!  She's very easy to relate to.

The plot was awesome!  I loved all the action and the twists we were taken through.  It was never predictable and never boring.  I can truthfully say that I enjoyed every single moment I was reading this.  But the ending . . . my goodness, that was a shock.  I really did not see that coming though I feel I should have.  It's just . . . my heart.  It's in tatters.  I need the fourth book, Origin (at least, that's what the title is listed at on Goodreads) immediately!  I don't know how I'll survive waiting for it.

As always, Jennifer Armentrout has outdone herself!  She consistently amazes me with her books.  If you have yet to pick up one of her works . . . I don't even know what you're doing.  Go buy Obsidian and get to reading!  You will not regret it!
