Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.
Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.
Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.
But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

My Review:  I seriously love everything this woman writes.  Every time I hear that she has another book in the works, I'm beyond excited.  Unsurprisingly, when I heard about the release of Wicked, I was over the moon.  I have a thing for faeries and the fact that JLA was going to be diving into them...

Needless to say, I anxiously counted down the days until I could get my hands on this book.  When I finally was able to read it, I was thrilled.  JLA delivered yet another kick-ass story that has left me making grabby hands for the next book.

Without a doubt, my favorite part of any book I read by Jennifer is the characters.  I absolutely adored the ones in Wicked.  Ivy was such a strong and independent female lead; watching her kick faerie butt was so awesome.  I loved that she was more than capable of handling herself.  Even when she was struggling in a situation, she would do what she believed needed to be done.  Her bravery was amazing.  I also loved her roommate, Tink.  Every time he was in a scenes, I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud.  He was hilarious.

And then, of course, we had Ren.

This guy couldn't be any hotter if he tried.  He was just the perfect package - extremely attractive, badass, and sweeter than a beignet.  Seeing the way he put his trust into Ivy and allowed her to stand on her own and be strong was so cute.  He was extremely patient and kind and I loved that he wasn't willing to go down without a fight.  *dreamy sigh* Yeah, I could definitely use some more Ren in my life.

While I predicted the twist at the end fairly early on in the novel, it didn't stop the emotional impact.  I was horrified and sad for everyone involved but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to get my hands on the next book.  I need to know what happens next!  The only slight problem I had was things got a little draggy toward the middle.  It felt like a lot of the same situations were happening over and over again but in different ways if that makes sense.  Still, I enjoyed it!

Wicked was one heck of a good book.  Filled with strong characters, laugh out loud dialogue, and tons of romantic tension, this is a JLA book you're not going to want to miss.  I'm already counting down the days until the sequel releases!

"You gave Tink a scarf. Tink is free!" He flew out into the hallway like a little cracked-out fairy, screeching, "Tink is freeeeee!"
