There is need. And then there is Fate.
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.
My Review:  Well holy daimon babies everywhere.  This was one amazing sequel.  It seems that with every book Jennifer writes, I only fall harder in love with the characters, story, and world.  Every single time I step into one of her stories - whether it be from this series, the Lux series, or a standalone -  I am swept away and completely glued to the pages!

Okay, lets start with my favorite thing: the characters.  I cannot get enough of Alex, Aiden, Caleb, and the others!  And, of course, Seth.  I don't think I've ever come across a cast of characters so full of snark.  The interactions between them all are so hilarious, I can't help but laugh out loud!  I've made a point of only reading these books when I'm alone because people tend to look at you weird when you start cracking up while reading.  Even though most of the time they are bickering and arguing with each other, you can really tell how much they all care for each other, especially Alex and Aiden.  I know some people were leaning toward Seth in this book - and I'll admit, he's pretty awesome - but I love Aiden so much!  He's so sweet and protective and fun to read!  He and Alex make a great pair and I really hope that they are able to be with each other in the end.

Another thing I really appreciated in this book was how much of the world we were able to see.  In the last book, we were only really introduced to the one Covenant but in this one, we also visit the New York one!  I was actually very shocked to see how different it was compared to Alex's home.  Everything there was so much more intimidating and cold.  I could understand why Alex was uncomfortable.  It made me wonder how the other Covenants were like.

And man, the plot in this book was crazy.  So many different conflicts arose!  I felt Alex's frustration and anger like it was my own.  It made me wonder at times how they were going to get through this!  The plot was fast paced when it needed to be and slowed down during more important parts.  We learned a lot in this installment and I just can't wait to jump into the next one!

I can genuinely say that I can't find one thing in this book that I didn't like.  It was action packed, funny, and the romance was to swoon for.  What more can you ask for?
