When the goddess Artemis goes missing, she is believed to have been kidnapped. And now it's up to Percy and his friends to find out what happened. Who is powerful enough to kidnap a goddess? They must find Artemis before the winter solstice, when her influence on the Olympian Council could swing an important vote on the war with the titans. Not only that, but first Percy will have to solve the mystery of a rare monster that Artemis was hunting when she disappeared—a monster rumored to be so powerful it could destroy Olympus forever.
My Review:  Like the other books before it, The Titan's Curse did not disappoint.  I loved diving back into the world of Half Bloods and Greek gods.  It's always such a blast finding my way back to the wonderful world Rick Riordan has woven.  Every time I crack open one of this books, I find myself on a new adventure with different discoveries and creepy new monsters!

This book started off differently than the others.  Percy and his friends are on a quest in the middle of winter!  I liked the change and felt it was necessary to break the redundancy that the beginning of these books seem to have.  It was also exciting to see Percy without the usual support he has.  He had to rely on a different group of people and learn to trust some of the less familiar demigods.

It was interesting having a different set of characters to get to know in this book.  I enjoyed learning more about them and seeing the way Percy interacted with each one.  I especially liked seeing Percy and Thalia together.  They had a lot of character chemistry (in a completely non-romantic way).  The way they were constantly challenging each other to do better and fight harder was so awesome.  Percy grew a lot in this book, too.  I could see the way he'd matured from the previous books.  He was becoming less of a kid and more of responsible young adult.  While it's a little sad to see him growing so quickly, it was believable and necessary considering what he's been through the past few years.

One of my favorite parts of this series is the action.  It's just so cool reading about Percy's adventures!  Being able to picture him fighting monsters and using his power is amazing!  Rick Riordan paints such a clear image in your head as you read.  His writing style is just . . . wow.  I love his descriptions and the humor he sprinkles throughout.  He makes it so easy to relate and love the characters!

With an amazingly developed world, a cast of interesting and three dimensional characters, and a writing style that will hook you from the first page, The Titan's Curse is a book that will definitely not disappoint.  It sets the stage for the next books in the series and leaves the reader wanting more!  If you have yet to pick up the first book, you're missing a seriously great story!
