The Book Blogger Test

Image found here
So, I saw this post over at Jazmen's blog and knew I needed to do it!  It sounded like so much fun and the questions are awesome so here I am!  Following Jazmen's lead, I'm tagging everyone!  Do the test yourself and leave a link in the comments so I can see your answers!

1.  What are your top three book pet peeves/hates?

Insta-love
Please, for the love of all things books, stop this now.  I'm so tired of "OMG, he's so cute, I love him!"  No, stop.  You do not love him.  You are attracted to him.  Insta Attraction is fine and realistic.  But you cannot tell me that you love that person after having just laid eyes on them.

Whiney main characters
If you are so upset with something, do something about it.  Seriously.  I hate it when characters just sit there crying and moaning about their problems and refuse to take the obvious action required to fix it.

Characters Assuming the Worst of Their Significant Others
Nothing frustrates me more than when a main character is told some little piece of information about their boyfriend/girlfriend and they immediately assume the worst possible thing without even asking their love interest and talking about it.  Like, oh, I'm sorry, weren't you just swearing you loved them and telling them how much you trust them five pages ago?  Yes?

2.  Describe your perfect reading spot.
Outside on this little swinging chair I saw at Pier 1 Imports with an umbrella for shade next to my pool and a yummy cup of cold fruity tea.  Specific?  Yeah, I know.  But I want it to happen so bad.  Unfortunately, that chair is sort of expensive.

3. Tell us three bookish confessions.
 1.  I really actually disliked The 5th Wave.  I didn't even finish it.

2.  I have never read a book by Sarah Dessen.

3.  When I first read the first Harry Potter book, I wasn't interested in reading the second one so I didn't pick the series back up for about 2 years.

4.  When was the last time you cried while reading?
I cry at the drop of a hat, honestly.  It doesn't take much for me to tear up, especially while reading.  However, the last time I cried over a book was at the end of City of Heavenly Fire.  Oh man, that book punched me right in the feels.

5.  How many books are on your bedside table?
Zero right now.  Wow, that's sad. But understandable because I just came back from vacation and brought all the books with me.  They are currently still in my backpack.  Three of them, by the way!

6.  What's your favorite snack while reading?
I love snacking on frozen grapes!  They are actually my favorite snack no matter what.

7.  Show us your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase.

These are my favorite shelves.  I like the set up of the bottom the best but I have more of my favorite books on the top one.

8.  Write how much books mean to you in three words
Imagination.  Knowledge.  Magic.

9.  What's your biggest reading secret?
I hoard books.  I don't like giving them away or donating them to libraries.  I don't even really like loaning them to friends.  But yeah, I usually never give books away.  I even have a huge drawer full of books that I won't read again but I still hold onto them.

Okay, well, there you have it!  Make sure to link me to your tests or just answer the questions in the comments below!

    1. I discovered them last summer and now I have them all the time! Definitely tell me what you think :)

Never read Harry Potter?! I'm sure you hear this all the time but I DEFINITELY recommend that series! Have you seen the movies??

  2. I've got The 5th Wave right now but haven't started reading it.

Oooooo your shelves are so pretty looking! I'm all weird and OCD so I've got mine in alphabetical order by author's last name, so mine don't look as pretty as yours. *grabby hands*

It actually took me a few years to get myself to read the fifth Harry Potter book. Of course.... I was nine at the time, so maybe it's understandable?

Love your pet peeves. I heartily agree with all of them. :>

Fantastic post! Thanks for sharing ^_^

    1. Thank you! My shelves used to be super organized and straight but I ran out of room and couldn't buy a new one so I decided to reorganize :)

It's definitely understandable! I think I was 11 at the time when I finished the first book!

      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I actually never thought of the "Characters Assuming the Worst of Their Significant Others" until now but that bothers me too. Like immediate doubt, what the heck. Why are you with these people if you don't trust them? Ugh.

Hehe, I hoard books too. Even if I don't like or even hate them I usually hold on them. Granted, they get stuck way way back on the shelf but MINE. I usually don't even loan them out that much, haha.

    1. It's a newer pet peeve of mine! I've seriously been noticing it a lot in the books I read lately and it make me just want to throw them! So frustrating!

People say hoarding books is a "problem" but, really, what a great problem to have, right?

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. You must read SOMEthing by Sarah Dessen. Preferably not Someone Like You or That Summer. Those were the ones I liked the least and might have stopped me from trying her other books...
And I cry so easily, too. Hence I will hold off on CoHF :/
And I'm a crazy hoarder too. I can't stand giving away books, unless I specifically bought them for someone else. But I do let certain people borrow them. People who respect my books and such o.o
As for those lovely shelves! I happened to notice a couple things, I'm not weird, I swear o.o But Allegiant seems to be missing... I love the Gone series.... How was Finale? I love Elsewhere... How was Wings? How was Matched? And the hidden book, is that The Host? xD

    1. I once tried to read her novel Just Listen but I think I was just too young to be interested in it. Maybe someday I'll pick up one of her novels!

I held off on CoHF for as long as I could without driving myself crazy! There were definitely tears but it was worth it!

Yeah, I can always give away books I bought specifically for someone. I have like, two friends I let borrow my books because they're always careful!

WOW, you have a great eye! I sort of gave up on the last book in the Gone series in the middle of it. I liked Finale but there was some seriously frustrating aspects to it. Yeah, I was spoiled with Allegiant so I have yet to pick it up yet. I don't know if I will or not. Elsewhere was beautiful book! Though I haven't read it in such a long time! And Wings was great! That series wrapped up really nicely in my opinion! Matched was good but I have no interest in Reached and yes, the hidden book is The Host!
