it's almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.
My Review:  So, I'd just like to start this review by saying that I am terribly sorry to all those Warner fans out there.  I understand now.  Really, I love Warner now.  Seriously, I'm holding a Team Warner flag over here and I don't even know what I was thinking in the first book saying I hated him.  Well, actually I do because he did some pretty nasty stuff back then.  But that was before we really had any back story to him.  Now I'm not saying that's an excuse for the horrible things he's done but his back story makes it easier to understand why he does things like that.  He doesn't want to be like this; he just doesn't know any other way to be.  Also, he and Juliette have actual conversations.  They speak to each other about things besides their relationship or making out.  Adam and Juliette didn't have one conversation that didn't begin with or lead to discussing their relationship or going at it.

Now that we've gotten past that, can I just say that I really, really enjoyed this book?  I think I liked it even more than the first one which it shocking because I generally enjoy first books in series so much more than the second ones.

It was so nice to be able to sink back into this world that Tahereh Mafi has created.  She makes it so easy to get sucked back into this adventure with all the characters along side you.  Her writing style does a lot to help her with this.  It flows so well and there is such a lyricism to it that you just get caught up with all the imagery.  It was like a movie playing through my head as I read which is always awesome.  I never felt like I was just sitting there reading words on the pages.  It was like I was right in the action with Juliette and the rest of the characters.

Speaking of characters, I was quite annoyed with Adam this book.  And no, its not just because I'm all Team Warner now.  I wouldn't have minded Adam as a character - would have even liked him - had it not been for the way he treated Juliette.  While he wasn't abusive or outwardly mean towards her, he did other things that just really got on my nerves.  She was trying so hard to be good and to protect him and every time she passed a milestone, he would just drag her back because he selfishly believed there was nothing more important than their relationship.  He held her back throughout the story.  She made a couple friends?  He'd show up and steal her away.  She was starting to detach from him for both their goods?  He'd come in and make her feel all guilty for trying to do what was best.  It was annoying!  I did like Juliette more in this book, though.  She seemed a lot stronger and more willing to put herself out there and use her ability to help those she knew needed it.

I'm super anxious to get my hands on the next installment!  There is so many lose ends that need to be tied up and I want to know how all of the characters end up!  I'm especially interested in who Juliette ultimately ends up with.  Fingers crossed it's Warner.
